military in trainingThe U.S. Army has introduced an online tool that aims to help squad leaders and soldiers assess and improve professional development, the service branch’s website reported Oct. 12.

Sgt. Maj. David L. Stewart said the Center for the Army Profession and Ethic at the Army Training and Doctrine Command developed the “Not In My Squad Assessment Resource” website using the feedback gathered through a meeting with 32 squad leaders in June.

David Vergun writes the discussion focused on how to maintain inclusion, respect, dignity and trust among junior non-commissioned officers.

The 15-minute online test works to help uniformed personnel assess their views on statements that fall under the four aspects—esprit de corps, professional climate, standards and discipline, and shared identity of trusted professionals at the Army, Vergun reports.

Stewart told the website squad leaders and members can voluntarily take the online assessment and share results to discuss possible areas for improvement.

Soldiers can also access educational and training materials through the online resource, he added.
