DARPA intends for the Mining and Understanding Software Enclaves program to boost the reliability of building, verifying and maintaining software systems, according to the report.
âOur goal is to apply the principles of big data analytics to identify and understand deep commonalities among the constantly evolving corpus of software drawn from the hundreds of billions of lines of open source code available today,â said Suresh Jagannathan, DARPA program manager.
The program is meant to mine software codes through a community infrastructure engine, GCN reports.
That engine will work to gather information about software behaviors and vulnerabilities from various open source code and integrate the data into a public database, the report says.
