Bill Zielinski has joined the Office of Management and Budget’s Office of the Chief Information Officer as head of the agency oversight team, CIO.gov reported Tuesday.Zielinski will be responsible for the team that works to facilitate collaboration among federal CIOs on FedStats and other government programs.
He recently served as deputy commissioner for systems and CIO at the Social Security Administration.
In this capacity, he helped launch the mySocialSecurity tool and led cybersecurity efforts and consolidation of the agency’s data centers.
Zielinski has also held leadership positions at SSA’s office of systems and office of automation support.
Apart from SSA, Zielinski worked as associate director for retirement and benefits at the Office of Personnel Management.
He graduated cum laude from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
