cybersecurityThe House Oversight and Government Reform Committee wants the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team to submit a report on the group’s efforts to help investigate and respond to cybersecurity breaches at the Office of Personnel Management.

Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Wednesday forwarded a letter to US-CERT Director Ann Barron-DiCamillo requesting information about when OPM reported the hacks to the team.

He also asked Barron-DiCamillo for documents regarding any malicious code or logic that hackers used in the OPM data breach and if the virus was known to Department of Homeland Security‘s National Cybersecurity Protection System.

The committee also wants to know the results of forensic analyses into the cyber attacks as well as the response measures US-CERT has recommended to OPM.

Lastly, Chaffetz told the group to provide the names of government and contractor personnel who helped execute incident response and remediation methods to address the attacks.
