Pace University said Monday the award will extend its CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service program for another five years.
The academic institution will use the grant to offer annual cybersecurity training to at least three students at its Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, assist scholars in their research efforts and manage its GenCyber initiative for high school teachers and other outreach programs.
âWith the continuous support from the NSF, Paceâs CyberCorps program is expecting to produce the next generation of cybersecurity professionals who can fit into the workplace with not only their computing expertise but also practical hands-on skills and problem-solving capabilities,â said Professor Li-Chiou Chen, CyberCorps program director.
Pace University will require students to take courses in cybersecurity, mathematics, business administration and criminal justice and offer training on digital forensics, network security administration, and information assurance auditing and compliance, among other areas.
