Ochoa directed DOJ’s oversight and review office for three years before she took the assistant IG position in 2005.
She also served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia between 1989 and 2002 and an associate independent counsel at the Office of Independent Counsel from 1987 to 1989.
Before that, she worked in a litigation associate role at Covington & Burling for five years and clerked in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a juris doctorate from George Washington University.
