Michael Neibauer writes that the campus will operate separately from military counterpart U.S. Cyber Command and house civilian federal employees and contractors who support cybersecurity operations.
The report said the project’s goal is to consolidate the federal government’s cyber functions and replace current lease agreements with private companies.
GSA’s original prospectus on the campus also states the benefits of bolstering communications, organizational synergies, coordination, and operational effectiveness and efficiencies, Neibauer reports.
The Department of Homeland Security, FBI, Office of Intelligence and Analysis and U.S. Secret Service are involved in the project.
