The Senate will consider its own measure next week to continue funding the government through September, Roxana Tiron and James Rowley report.
According to Bloomberg, the House approved a $982 billion spending package.
Both the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs would receive more flexibility under the House plan to decide how they would implement sequestration cuts, according to the report.
An additional $10 billion in the House’s bill would go toward the Pentagon’s soldier training, weapons maintenance and operations programs.
USA Today reports the Senate and House will likely have to reconcile their different proposals to get a deal before a shutdown.
