Israel’s national missile defense organization and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency have completed their first target engagement test for the Arrow-3 interceptor.
The Arrow-3 interceptor launched after the battle management control system analyzed data of a ballistic missile target during the test, MDA said Thursday.
Israel’s air force and the Israeli Aerospace Industries led the engagement at a test range in the country.
IAI’s MLM and Elta are responsible for Arrow-3’s integration and development, Boeing for the Arrow 3 production and Elbit for the battle management control development.
Arrow-3 is designed as an addition to Israel’s multiple layers of defenses such as the Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow-2.
