Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) believes the implementation of the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act across government will move forward once the executive branch releases guidance for agencies, GovExec reported Wednesday.

Charles Clark writes that Issa, a former chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said at a recent Data Transparency Coalition conference that the bipartisan DATA Act could face some resistance from agencies.

The lawmaker noted that action from the president or the Office of Management and Budget could drive agency implementation efforts.

The report said Issa has indicated that continued public demand for open government data could overcome potential roadblocks at agencies, including funding concerns and resistance to change.
