Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Clark Named DHA Healthcare Operations Director

Army Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Clark, director at Maryland-based Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, has been appointed director of healthcare operations at the Defense Health Agency, the Defense Department said Monday.

Clark started his military career as a flight surgeon and family physician for the 543rd General Dispensary in Daegu, South Korea, for two years.

Prior to Walter Reed, he worked as a U.S. Army Europe Command surgeon and commander of the Europe Regional Medical Command.

During his tenure at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Clark held roles such as senior medical officer under the 307th Medical Battalion and clinic director of the Womack Army Community Hospital Family Medicine Residency.

He also served at the Fort Knox, Ky.-based Human Resources Command as chief of Medical Corps Branch after serving as commander of the 65th Medical Brigade for two years.

The Defense Superior Service Medal and Combat Medical Badge recipient holds two master’s degrees in public health and strategic studies from the University of Washington and Army War College.
