The General Services Administration has introduced an online platform for federal agencies to place bulk orders for hard drives, computer monitors and other information technology products, FCW reported Thursday.Mark Rockwell writes GSA launched the Advantage Select tool under the National IT Commodity Program of the Federal Acquisition Service.
The new online service aims to free government agencies from paperwork associated with competition and procurement under blanket price agreements, award short-term contracts to vendors and provide pricing discounts for buying large quantities of IT goods, Rockwell reports.
