DARPA said Friday that it is seeking research proposals on computing technology that would help bolster the detection and elimination of cyber threats by providing visibility into system operations.
According to the BAA, a transparent computing system will enable reasoning and other interactions between metadata in an information plane and the data and code within a computation or communication plane.
This will facilitate the creation of an enterprisewide cyber monitoring and control infrastructure that proactively enforces security policies and performs intrusion detection and forensic analysis.
The program, which consists of a two-year initial phase and two option phases spanning 12 months each, covers five technical areas â tagging and tracking, detection and policy enforcement, architecture, scenario development and evaluation.
Interested parties can submit their proposals until Feb. 10, 2015.
DARPA said it expects to issue multiple awards under the BAA.
