Richard Driggers, a cybersecurity official at the Department of Homeland Security, said the challenge facing the U.S. government when it comes to hiring cybersecurity professionals is a ânational security issue,â The Hill reported Tuesday.
âWe have a major deficit across the nation with regards to our cybersecurity workforce, and we need to figure out how we can build and sustain a cybersecurity workforce as a national asset for America,â he said Tuesday at CyberCon event.
Driggers, who serves as deputy assistant director for cybersecurity at DHSâ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, said he believes having a âsteady stream of qualified cybersecurity professionalsâ is a ânational imperativeâ amid evolving cyber threats.
