Kelvin Droegemeier, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, said more work is needed to support public-private partnerships focused on advancing artificial intelligence, FedScoop reported Thursday.
âIn America, we donât do nearly as well with partnerships as we really could,â he said in his testimony Wednesday before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies.Â
Droegemeier told lawmakers that agencies should leverage the use of AI and machine learning to facilitate the delivery of services to citizens. He also fielded questions on how to enhance diversity and research environments in the field of science, technology, engineering and math. The White House launched the American AI Executive through an executive order signed in February to advance AI development and build up the countryâs economic and national security.
