The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has provided update on the construction of a new campus in St. Louis, including work on the main operations building.
The Next NGA West project is expected to be completed in 2024 and open in 2025, the agency said Friday.
Sue Pollmann, program director for the Next NGA West project and west executive for NGA, said there have been no significant construction delays amid the COVID-19 pandemic and that she is pleased with the teamwork among U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, McCarthy-HITT and NGA project management leaders and engineers.
Enclosure work and roof deck construction are set to kick off in late August.
Heather Cirre, manager for small business contracting and outreach for McCarthy-HITT joint venture, said the JV has set a goal of 25 percent for the participation of minority-owned businesses in the project, surpassing the federal goal. Such businesses have secured numerous contracts for various products and services.
