1 min read

Three lawmakers have asked the chairs of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and related subpanels to investigate cybersecurity issues under President Donald Trump’s administration in next week’s hearing of the House Research and Technology Subcommittee.

Reps. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), Dan Lipinski (D-Illinois) and Don Beyer (D-Virginia) asked the committee in a letter published Thursday to review the use of a private email server by the administration’s senior staff, lack of security features on Trump’s and senior personnel’s social media accounts as well as vulnerabilities in the president’s mobile phone.

The letter was addressed to Reps. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), chair of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee; Darin LaHood (R-Illinois), chair of the panel’s oversight subcommittee; and Barbara Comstock (R-Virginia), chair of the committee’s research and technology subpanel.
