1 min read

cybersecurityThe U.S. Navy has started to update the Cyber Workforce Management Manual as part of its efforts to protect its data infrastructures and navigation and weapons systems from cyber threats, the service branch said Thursday.

The service branch said it will work to determine certification, education and training requirements for the cyber workforce once the updated manual gets approval.

The service branch also cited the creation of the Navy Cybersecurity Division in September.

That new division will work to continue programs initiated by Task Force Cyber Awakening in 2014, promote compliance with cybersecurity policies and craft strategies that seek to secure IT networks from vulnerabilities.
