Justin Herman serves as manager of government-wide social media and digital engagement programs within the General Services Administration‘s citizen services and innovative technologies office.
He leads federal efforts to transform public service delivery and oversees the SocialGov network, which comprises more than 1000 digital service leaders at more than U.S. government organizations.
Herman is also part of a White House-formed group tasked with creating a third U.S. National Action Plan for Open Government.
He oversaw the development of several government resource materials, including the U.S. Public Participation Playbook and the Federal Cyber-Vandalism Toolkit.
He was included in FierceGovernment’s list of the 15 most forward-thinking professionals in the government and named by Washington Life magazine as one of region’s most influential young leaders, among other recognitions.
Herman also served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
