Marina Martin, chief technology officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs, is leading VA’s efforts to streamline online customer services and establish a digital services team that will work to bring agile tools and practices to the agency, FCW reported Friday.

Adam Mazmanian writes that Martin is hiring technologists to form the digital services team as VA aims to modernize its service delivery process and foster a veteran-focused digital experience.

“[One] of their three main focus areas is going to be on unifying, streamlining and improving digital access for veterans,” Martin told the publication.

She said that VA is currently working on the GI Bill Comparison Tool and the Veterans Employment Center to help address veterans’ needs for benefits information and job placement assistance.

Martin also noted that the digital services team will also train and collaborate with VA’s internal IT team to support the digital transformation efforts.
