The Israel Missile Defense Organization and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency have jointly tested a weapon system designed to intercept ballistic missile threats.
The David’s Sling Weapon System’s radar worked to detect a ballistic missile and send flight data to the control system before the Stunner interceptor destroyed the target, the MDA said Wednesday.
The demonstration at a test range in southern Israel marks the second test for the Stunner interceptor.
The David’s Sling Weapon System is built to counter ballistic missiles for the joint U.S.-Israel Arrow Weapon System and to add interception capabilities for the state of Israel.
