greenhardhatsOn January 8th, President Obama announced the award of $2.3 billion in the Recovery Act Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits. This award was put into place in order to create more clean energy projects nationwide.

This also was put into place to create thousands of green jobs – so, where are these jobs? In a Huffington Post report, they published the “five best cities for green jobs.” In this list were New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Detroit, and Portland.

Now with these green jobs, there has been the need for green job training. The U.S. Department of Labor awarded another $150 to go towards training workers. These jobs and training programs have high hopes of moving the country out of recession.

How far can a clean energy expansion lead us down the road to recovery? The answer might not be know for several months. However, according to a report from the Council of Economic Advisors, the investments in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are creating jobs now, as well as in the future. It has already created about 63,0000 jobs, and by 2012, it is expected to create more than 700,00 jobs.
