Sankaran is the Director of Federal Health Architecture. This is an E-Gov Initiative that is managed by Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology within the Department of Health and Human Services.
Sankaran has received several awards, including the AFFIRMâs Leadership Award, and he was also named to Federal Computer Weekâs Fed 100. One of his major successes was last year when several federal agencies and private sector organizations showed their ability to securely exchange information with Nationwide Health Information Network. This information exchange was able to take place due to the CONNECT gateway software solution built by Federal Health Architecture.
Before working at the Department of Health and Human Services, Sankaran worked as the director of IT and product operations at Carescience, Inc. This is a healthcare applications services provider; Sankaran has a successful track record in the healthcare IT industry. Sankaran received a degree in Engineering from Bharathiyar University in India.
