U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. VeraLinn âDashâ Jamieson, deputy chief of staff for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, told C4ISRNET in an interview published Thursday how the service intends to use artificial intelligence in the development of a collaborative sensing grid as part of the ISR flight plan.
âWe want to have algorithms to get at ensuring that the data is pure and not malicious or false,â Jamieson said.
âBut we are going to take that, and weâre going to use that with our exquisite capability to really flesh out that sensing grid.â
The Air Forceâs new flight plan lays out the serviceâs ISR goals in the next 10 years in order to retain technological advantage.
Jamieson cited the need for a data strategy that would facilitate access and ensure the security of data as well as the importance of introducing cloud to the ISR infrastructure.
âWhen I talk about cloud computing, Iâm really talking about it as a service. The service that weâre trying to get is really a platform, infrastructure and software,â she said.
She noted that she wants the service to collaborate with âmultiple industry partners in a multi-cloud concept.”
