Brig. Gen. Sean Farrell, director for strategic plans, programs and requirements at the Air Force Special Operations Command, has been named director of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s security assistance and cooperation directorate.
He will succeed Brig. Gen. Gregory Gutterman, who is due to step down as AFSAC director this summer, the service branch said Tuesday.
Farrell will manage the directorate’s $161 billion security assistance budget and its efforts to support international partners via the U.S. foreign military sales program
The 28-year Air Force veteran will be based at AFSAC’s headquarters in Wright-Patterson AF Base.
He has supported combat missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan and has logged more than 3,500 flying hours with the AC-130H, AC-130W, AC-130U and C-130E platforms.
