Profile: Susan Gordon, Deputy Director of NGA

gordon_susan_smallSusan Gordon serves as deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and assists the agency director in the management of the National System of Geospatial Intelligence.

Prior to assuming her current role in January, Gordon was director of CIA‘s Information Operations Center and senior adviser to the CIA director on cyber matters.

She worked at CIA for nearly 30 years, starting as an analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence’s Office of Scientific and Weapons Research.

She also brings engineering development experience from her work at the agency’s Directorate of Science and Technology, where she has also served as director of special activities.

Gordon has also held the position of director at the Office of Advanced Analytic Tools and the CIA director’s special assistant responsible for designing the Intelligence Community’s nonprofit venture capital firm In-Q-Tel.
