The General Services Administration‘s 18F digital services team has chosen the FBI and the Treasury Department as the first participants of a new initiative that aims to help agencies adopt emerging digital acquisition practices.
FBI and Treasury officials will join the Digital Acquisition Accelerator project that includes basic training in human-centered design, lean-agile methodologies, open innovation and modular contracting, 18F said Wednesday.
Participants will also work to complete two digital acquisitions and form their own groups of digital acquisition experts with the help of the pilot program team over the next six to eight months, the fellows wrote.
GSA funds the project managed by 18F and the Presidential Innovation Fellows.
The cross-organizational team plans a second phase of the program to build on the results of the pilot.
