Today, Executive Mosaic publications celebrated the Wash100 Award wins of two notable CEOs: Iridium’s Matt Desch and SAP National Security Services’ Harish Luthra.
The Wash100 represents the most significant leaders in government contracting. Every year, EM’s discerning voting body pours over the entire federal sector, assessing thousands of candidates to determine whose vision and innovation are most outstanding and who promises to alter the state of the industry in the year to come.
2024 is Desch’s 10th time receiving the honor. This was no forgone conclusion, though—no win is a guarantee and Iridium indeed had one of its best years yet, netting a record-breaking revenue of $790.7 million for 2023, with its sights set on new initiatives, like Project Stardust. The latter endeavor is “a narrowband-internet of things non-terrestrial network service based on 3GPP 5G standards to enable direct-to-device capabilities like 5G NTN messaging and emergency SOS on mobile,” according to Desch’s GovCon Wire profile.
Luthra was inducted into the Wash100 for the first time this year, in praise of his work accelerating cloud adoption and migration in the public sector. 2023 saw a new partnership between SAP NS2 and Microsoft on a secure cloud model for government customers, as well as a Defense Information Systems Agency provisional authority for SAP NS2’s Integrated Business Planning software, among other achievements.
