Bill Webner has been appointed CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions following the retirement of Doug Lane, a three-time Wash100 Award winner who previously held the position.
This change is a part of Capgemini’s succession plan, which was developed to reorganize the company’s leadership in response to Lane’s retirement, the McLean, Virginia-based organization announced on Wednesday.
“Bill has a strong track record in the government consulting space, with deep roots in technology as well as in the public sector itself,” said Capgemini Americas CEO Jim Bailey.
“He has helped our clients achieve measurable success within the agencies they serve and his vision and plan to accelerate Capgemini’s growth in the market gives us confidence about our clients’ future as well as our own,” Bailey added.
Webner joined Capgemini Government Solutions in 2014 as its vice president. Throughout his eight years in the position, he took on multiple leadership roles across the enterprise and drove Capgemini’s organic and inorganic expansion in the public sector market.
“I’m excited to take on this new role and continue Capgemini’s journey of unlocking transformational value for our people and our clients,” Webner commented.
He also emphasized the potential of Capgemini to extend its reach within the federal marketplace as a technology provider and strategic partner to its customers.
Prior to joining Capgemini, Webner spent nearly 14 years at Booz Allen Hamilton as a practice leader. He launched his career at Freddie Mac, where he worked as an analyst for seven years.
In March 2022, Webner participated in an Executive Spotlight interview with ExecutiveBiz, where he discussed Capgemini’s growth in the federal market, its company culture and values and its efforts to embrace emerging technologies. To read the full interview, click here.
