Fiscal 2015 Omnibus Funding Bill Signed by President Obama

1 min read

WhiteHousePresident Barack Obama has signed into law an omnibus bill that provides $1.1. trillion in funds to operate most of the federal government in fiscal 2015, Reuters reported Tuesday.

The bipartisan spending deal cleared Congress last week and headed off a government shutdown, according to the story by Peter Cooney.

Cooney reports the agreement offers full-year funding for all federal agencies except the Department of Homeland Security, which will be funded until Feb. 27.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle struggled to pass the omnibus due to disagreements over banking regulatory changes and President Obama’s immigration executive order.
