Shannon Hader, vice president and director of Futures Group‘s Center for Health Systems and Solutions, has been appointed director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention‘s HIV/AIDS division within the Center for Global Health.

“Over the past year, Futures Group has supported Shannon’s sabbatical under the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellows program, where she has worked with America’s political leaders in Congress to advance health system reforms,” Chris LeGrand, Futures Group CEO, said Friday.

“Shannon will undoubtedly draw upon this experience as she educates others about America’s historic commitment to fight HIV/AIDS.”

LeGrand also said Hader has previously served as head of CDC Zimbabwe and supported the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.

Futures Group said it has provided information and health informatics services for international CDC projects such as the Health Management Information Systems project in Kenya in partnership with the Kenya National AIDS/STI Control Program and the health ministry.
