USFCR Seeks Vendor Info for Contract Opportunities

1 min read

ContractSigningThe U.S. Federal Contractor Registration office has urged businesses that are seeking to bid for government contracts to update their System for Award Management information or be listed on the office’s roster.

Nearly 600,000 companies are registered on SAM.gov and a large number of them have misspellings, incomplete information and empty data fields, the office said Tuesday.

Such errors disqualify vendors based on a variety of demerits, USFCR added.

SAM applicants have access to self-service options or a full service that includes technical and possible financial support, as well as exposure via the USFCR newsletter for federal buyers, a FEMA Vendor profile, NAICS code research and Verified Vendor Seal of Approval.

President Barack Obama signed an executive order this week on favoring equal pay opportunities for registered women-owned small businesses, which USFCR says are awarded up to 5 percent of all government contracts in the U.S.
