Army Opens Weapon Microelectronics Manufacturing Facility
The U.S. Army has officially opened the Microelectronics Manufacturing Facility at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Pennsylvania. The new facility supports the Army’s modernization and ensures that the service branch cannot only sustain legacy systems but also enable the integration of new technologies into future platforms, said Liz Miranda, executive deputy to the commanding general of the Army Materiel Command, during the plant’s opening ceremony held Sunday.
