Bob Genter Discusses Current Growth Markets for SAIC in New Video Interview

In a new video interview, Executive Mosaic spoke with Bob Genter, president of SAIC’s defense and civilian sector, to get an inside look at SAIC’s growth strategy and learn more from Genter about the company’s expansion opportunities.

“SAIC has been on a path to be able to acquire different technologies, either by investments on our own or through acquisitions, and be able to put those together into a kind of ecosystem that we can bring to multiple customers,” said Genter, a 2023 Wash100 Award winner, in conversation with Executive Mosaic’s Summer Myatt.

The two main areas in which SAIC is seeing opportunities for growth are engineering and information technology.

SAIC has a very established base of IT business, primarily with civilian customers; but now, after a few key acquisitions, Genter said the company is expanding its IT business to DOD customers, unlocking new growth opportunities for the company.

“That has opened up a large market for us to be able to go after that previously we didn’t address,” Genter said of the IT expansion strategy. “Now, it’s something that we are completely capable of, and it’s exciting for us to be able to grow into that area.”

The situation is flipped for SAIC’s engineering business, Genter explained. The company has a well-established relationship with DOD customers for engineering capabilities, but it has had a relatively small footprint on the civilian side. Now, SAIC is looking to solve engineering problems for customers like DHS and NASA.

“We are taking some of the technology that we have and the relationships we have with technology vendors on the engineering side, and we can then bring that to bear to a few of our large-scale civilian customers,” shared Genter.
