Kevin Kampschroer: GSA Adds Pilot Platform Feature to Real Estate Sustainability Practices Tool

GSAThe General Services Administration has updated its real estate sustainability practice tool with a new platform built to aid in product procurement functions vendors and buyers, the agency announced Tuesday.

Kevin Kampschroer, GSA chief sustainability officer and director, said the pilot platform for the Sustainable Facilities Tool will supply users product-level data that works to automate product performance calculations and project analytics in categories including flooring, furniture, lighting, plumbing and appliances.

SFTool was released in April to help users identify and apply sustainable building practices in the design of workplaces.

Kampschroer added the tool can assist organizations track “watts and water” results of buying decisions and document progress to aid purchasing and building goals.
