Jason Miller writes Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work on May 1 ordered DoD to merge Army ITA and the Office of the Secretary of Defenseâs enterprise IT service division into Joint IT Single Service Provider-Pentagon.
The goal is to “forge a strong relationship between those two organizations coupled with the strength of the enterprise provider of Defense Information Systems Agency to really bring that full capability to the Pentagon tenants for the end-to-end IT services,” Garcia told Federal News Radio in an interview.
He noted DoD also seeks to streamline contract processing through the consolidation project and implement a joint active directory environment for managing infrastructure.
Garcia added in the interview that he believes a JADE system will help the new IT organization to build authentication procedures to manage access to emails, unified communications and applications.
