Ann Dunkin, chief information officer of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is pushing for EPA to embrace agile information technology development and contracting methods, Nextgov reported Tuesday.

“We’re working very hard to recreate the sense of urgency that everything doesn’t have to take a long time, and that the passage of time matters,” Dunkin told Nextgov in a recent interview.

She noted that Greg Godbout, EPA’s digital services team lead, has helped promote the idea of implementing agile and creative work practices within the agency.

Nextgov reports the agency has developed the E-Enterprise for the Environment website with the goal of providing information about the agency’s multiple programs to companies and individuals.
