Lisa Danzig: OMB Seeks to Institutionalize Priority Areas Planning in Agencies

1 min read

mentorA new memo from the Office of Management and Budget requires federal agencies to submit their two-year draft performance goals by May 15, Federal News Radio reported Friday.

Jason Miller writes Lisa Danzig, OMB associate director for personnel and performance, said the agency aims to help other agencies accelerate progress toward meeting their objectives.

“Every year we’ve required a deputy goal leader, but this time we are requiring a career deputy goal leader to institutionalize the leadership around each of these priorities,” she told the radio station.

Danzig added the Performance Improvement Council helps facilitate cross-agency discussions and sharing of strategies during the goal setting process.

In the memo, OMB Director Shaun Donovan called on agencies to identify and coordinate on areas which they believe could have a significant impact on the public.
