The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to restructure the agency’s organization into a five-region national framework, GovExec reported Monday.
Kellie Lunney writes the VA wants to form an integrated department comprising agencies and offices from different geographical and organizational areas.
The realignment is scheduled to complete on June 30, according to the report.
“VA components will have better internal coordination and the ability to leverage shared services and experiences,†Scott Blackburn, director of VA’s MyVA program management office, told a press briefing.
Blackburn said the VA also intends for the restructuring to train employees on how to serve veterans and coordinate with colleagues, Lunney reports.
