Darlene Costello, an acquisition official within theÂ Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, has been appointed as principal deputy assistant defense secretaryÂ for acquisition under the same office.
Costello previously served as principal director of strategic and tactical systems and director of acquisition and program management, the Defense DepartmentÂ said Tuesday.
InÂ her prior role, Costello advisedÂ PentagonÂ acquisition chief Frank Kendall on program acquisition and management concerns and oversaw procurement processes forÂ strategic and tactical systems.
She also worked on policy formation and the development and implementation ofÂ initiatives to helpÂ DoD program managerÂ with theirÂ skills and qualifications.
CostelloÂ previously managed acquisitions of naval warfare and served as aÂ principal adviser on ship programs and procurement of maritime systemsÂ when she worked atÂ the Naval Sea Systems Command.
