1 min read

mentorThe Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Science Technology Policy have released a report on how some federal agencies are using new procurement practices to encourage technology innovation across the private sector.

Tom Kalil, deputy director for technology and innovation at OSTP, and Lesley Field, deputy administrator for federal procurement policy at OMB, write Thursday on the White House blog that the Innovative Contracting Case Studies document seeks to highlight measures that focus on actual results.

Procurement measures such as strategic sourcing, Smarter IT delivery and shared services are in support of the administration’s management agenda on service effectiveness and efficiency, Kalil and Field write.

The report said other related initiatives include the Buyers Club community for federal employees to exchange contracting best practices and troubleshooting methods and the ongoing public discussion on the published case studies.
