1 min read

WhiteHouseThe administration is set to pass an executive order to establish privacy guidelines and voluntary best practices for unmanned aerial vehicles in the U.S. commercial market, POLITICO reported Wednesday.

Erin Mershon and Kevin Robillard report that the National Telecommunications and Information Administration would be tasked to collaborate with industry and consumer groups to develop the guidelines.

Ned Price, a spokesman for the White House, said coordination among government agencies is underway to set the policies, as the Federal Aviation Administration is working on rules for commercial drone operations in U.S. airspace.

These guidelines are expected to address the public’s concerns regarding the images and data collected by drones, the report said.
