Computer-EngineeringThe National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has opened an online exchange for existing and new vendors to showcase their intelligence technologies to customers within the agency, American Forces Press Service reported Thursday.

Cheryl Pellerin writes the Geospatial Intelligence Solutions Marketplace program works as an online procurement standard for the government, the geospatial intelligence community and academic institutions.

“Our GEOINT Solutions Marketplace started when we realized we needed to revolutionize our relationship with industry,” Karyn Hayes-Ryan, NGA’s deputy component acquisition executive and director of its agility strategic initiative, told AFPS.

Hayes-Ryan told the publication the NGA intends for the GSM exchange to issue a needs statement for vendors using a public part of the system.

“Later this summer, we’re going to have an online environment where they can demonstrate these capabilities to us,” Hayes-Ryan said to AFPS.

Pellerin writes the NGA and the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation have partnered on the GSM program.
