The Defense Information Systems Agency has issued a request for information on strategies for building a computational environment to develop, test and host mobile applications for multiple operating systems.In a Friday FedBizOpps notice, DISA asks industry to make recommendations about how the Pentagon should mobilize its legacy enterprise platforms and to suggest ways of managing apps throughout the products’ lifecycle.
DISA also seeks contractors’ input on factors to consider when integrating mobile apps with back-end systems.
The agency plans to hold an industry day next month to provide further information about its Mobile Applications project.
The program’s goal is to help Pentagon organizations utilize smartphone and tablet apps designed to bolster productivity and manage daily workloads, according to DISA.
