Dell will provide computers, funds and professional services for the new social media listening and engagement center, as well as social analytics software for the American Red Crossâ health and safety preparedness programs, Dell said Thursday.
Trisa Thompson, vice president of corporate responsibility at Dell, said the company intends to help the organization further its humanitarian efforts across North Texas.
Dell also made the grant to help train 200 additional volunteers, who will join the American Red Cross North Texasâ digital volunteer program by 2015.
âRecent disasters have shown us that having a better view of the social conversation can help the Red Cross anticipate needs and connect more people with help,â said T.D. Smyers, CEO of American Red Cross North Texas region.
The American Red Cross will adapt the volunteer program into an online version to be rolled out across 10 chapters in the U.S.
