U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno has introduced a new concept for working with other countries to jointly respond to contingencies, Defense News reported Thursday.
Paul McLeary writes Odierno said at a Washington think tank that the Army is discussing the Global Strategic Landpower Network approach with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to the report.
Odierno also told the think tank that he is collaborating with U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh on a close air support agenda as the military intends to replace the legacy A-10 ground attack jet, the report says.
The Army has also developed a white paper for its joint Strategic Landpower task force in collaboration with the Special Operations Command and the Marine Corps, Defense News reports.
