White House ImageThe Obama administration has released a series of goals and strategic plans aimed to encourage economic growth and long-term fiscal performance in agencies.

Beth Cobert wrote on the Office of Management and Budget blog that the National Economic Council, Commerce Department and State Department will lead activities to encourage more foreign investments in the U.S.

The departments of Veteran Affairs and Housing and Urban Development have a joint agency priority goal to eliminate veteran homelessness by 2015.

Additionally, the General Services Administration and OMB will lead work to establish cost and quality benchmarks for agencies in areas such as human resources, acquisition, information technology and project management.

Each goal team is required submit implementation plans with indicated metrics and milestones this spring, Cobert writes.

The government website Performance.gov will have tools for the public to track quarterly progress of the goals.
