Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh said this week the service is hatching a new budget plan that aims to align its spending strategies with mission goals, Breaking Defense reported Thursday.
Colin Clark writes that Welsh said that the final document will include a 30-year agenda subject to periodic reviews and updates every few years.
âIs it strategic agility, cyber-centric operations, blended deterrence, all the above or some combination? IÂ donât know,â Welsh said of the strategy at an Air Force Association event this week.
âWhatever it is, weâve got to figure it out, and weâve got to figure it out quick,â he added.
Clark notes the Air Force is already undergoing a consolidation effort to streamline its resources into one master plan under a 20-year timeframe.
