TaxFormThe departments of Education and Treasury are working with Intuit to provide federal student loan borrowers information about the income-based repayment program.

That program seeks to help students repay their loan debts by setting payments based on income and family size, the Education Department said Friday.

Intuit will include a banner ad in its tax preparation software TurboTax to highlight options for managing college loans and provide links to the government’s online repayment calculator.

“Our collaboration with Intuit Inc. will help the administration reach millions of tax filers with that message,” said Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew.

In 2013, more than 18 million people in the U.S. used the Intuit platform to prepare and file their income taxes, according to the article.

The public-private partnership will also insert a note about the repayment program on the back of envelopes of tax refund checks.
