Charles Corpman Among DoD CIO Award Winners

PentagonCharles Corpman, chief of U.S. Strategic Command’s command and control function, was selected as the first place winner in the individual category for the Defense Department‘s 2013 Chief Information Officer Awards.

Corpman was recognized for his work to help modernize nuclear command and control programs, the Pentagon said Friday.

Respective second and third place awardees in the individual category were John Howell, product director for the U.S. Army‘s enterprise email program; and Richard Ford, a program manager for the Defense Manpower Data Center’s identity services division.

The Pentagon received more than 100 nominations for both military and civilian government employees in areas such as information management, information technology, cybersecurity and mission assurance.
